my painting

Went to Killenthomas Woods, Rathangan last week.   Wow!  What an inspirational place.  The Bluebells and Wild Garlic would take your breath away.  Anyway I brought my camera and tripod and got carried away taking photographs.  A couple of hours flew by and I discovered I was going around in circles and was totally lost.  Thankfully I met a friendly face who kindly accompanied me back to the carpark.  Thanks Michael.

Here are some photographs of the great work done by the children of St. Conleth & Mary's N.S. Newbridge, Co. Kildare (Fabric & Fibre Techniques)  and St. Joseph's Halverstown N.S., Co. Kildare (Patchwork quilt & Suitcase)  with a little help from me.

I really enjoyed working with the children.  They were very enthusiastic and proud of their achievements.

What's new?

As a result Art Source in the RDS I got invited to enter some pieces for assessment with a possibility to exhibit in an exhibition in Co. Down.  I had to get some professional photographs taken of my work and I am so delighted with them I want to share of them with anyone who looks at my blog.  I have entered 3 pieces of work.  The gallery at WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre is having an exhibition in March/April 2013 on the theme "Nature through Art".

I got the name of a photographer called Dean Kelly (00353 87 793 5098 in case anyone is interested) and he did great work at a very reasonable price.  What I really liked was that he brought his equipment to my home.  I didn't have to hawk my pieces anywhere and he set up in the sitting room.  The photographs below are just some of the ones he did and I am a very happy bunny.

What other news?

This year I will be working on two projects for the Craft Council of Ireland's Education programme CraftED.  I am very excited about that and the fact that the two schools are local is a real bonus.  I absolutely loved my experience last year and look forward to working with the teachers and children again.
