Gosh it's been a busy time for me.  I had a wonderful experience at the RDS Art Source 2012.  I got lots of wonderful feedback on my work which has given me confidence to continue creating.  Thank you BCFE for the opportunity.  I sold a birdhouse and now have to make two more by Christmas.
Classes are finishing this week for the Christmas break and I have 3 Saturdays of Craft stalls in Newbridge.  Hopefully, it won't be raining or snowing as it's an outdoor event.  I sold most of my small bits (enamelled jewellery, small wall pieces and leaves) at the RDS so have been really busy making new stock for the stand.  If you look closely at the Christmas tree,  it is decorated with copper leaves just like the ones on the roof of the birdhouse.  I made about 30, drilled each one and added a jumpring and copper thread.  I sold all of these at the fair and intend to make a load more for Saturday.  Busy times......

Gosh I can believe I last blogged in February.  I have to get better at keeping up to date with my blog.  Well it's been hectic.  I am on the CCOI education panel and worked with 29 wonderful little girls (first class) on a CRAFTed project.  It was an exciting and challenging experience.  I was working with them over 5 or 6 weeks and we covered a good few fabric and fibre techniques.  They seemed to really enjoy the experience and that is what is most important to me.

I have been tutoring adults too so that has kept me very busy. I haven't been doing any copper work but intend to get back into it shortly.  What I have been doing is painting.  I have done a few commissions and some paintings just for me.

Yummy Birds

I have been messing around with paper treatments and ended up with lots of pieces which I painted and stitched into.  However what to do with them.  I cut some of them into rectangles and patched them together and made a teacosy for our kitchen.  It is amazing what you can do with kitchen roll and baby wipes.

The other thing I have been doing is some practice with watercolour.   I had two commissions which I painted in acrylics in early December and had taken photos but lost them.  They are well settled in their new homes.  I started back into watercolour in the last few weeks and had a gift to paint for someone's 60th birthday.  It went down well and I didn't lost the photo of this.

We recorded this brilliant series on the migration of birds called Earthflight. The camera work is amazing and in the last episode you are shown how they were able to film some of the sequences. Anyway every time we are watching an episode our very lazy Borris who is usually fast asleep gets very interested in the programme. It's his favourite show.

Oonagh, my daughter got her PhD last month.  She worked so hard for years and it is richly deserved.
Well done Oo!    She got a job straight away and has a research fellowship in Reading University.  Great,  somewhere new to visit!

Hi All

Well it has been a while.  I have been very preoccupied of late but am now back with a bang.  My hubby is redesigning my art room and it is very exciting.  As I emptied and sorted everything, I was dying to try out new things.  My head is bursting with ideas.  Before my 'preoccupation', I was working on a felted piece right now based on  carnivorous plants which have really interesting shapes and colours. I am looking forward to getting back into it.  I also want to keep up my blog space so you will be seeing a lot of me here.

By the way check this link about Fenton the dog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dsb5HH8m24Y
It is hilarious.

Back soon
